Olivia Rodrigo, famous in her family as ‘Bella,’ has her debut album on the way

For many a teen, “Bella” is the name of their “favorite song.” It also happens to be singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo’s name and that of her forthcoming album.

Featuring more than 20 songs, “Bella” is Rodrigo’s first solo album as a woman, debuting on Aug. 30, and it’s immediately gaining a young audience for a singer-songwriter born into a large, legendary rock family.

“My dad is Bobby Rodrigo. He was in Santana, Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith. My mom played bass with Bo Diddley,” Rodrigo tells the Washington Post. “I wanted to do something I was really excited about.”

The album is due for release on Dec. 5. But the 19-year-old is headed out on tour starting this week. The entire trek hits Washington, D.C., on Friday with dates scheduled through October 28. For the details and full list of tour dates, check here.
